♦ ABOUT LISA AND MARCOS♦
Lisa Denise van der Plaats
She is an international dancer, both lead & follow, with a versatile background in Jazz, Ballet, Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, and West Coast Swing before falling in love with Zouk. As a teacher she combines her background in Biomedical Engineering and structural way of thinking, resulting in technical clear concepts with natural movements to explore the essence of the dance. Being the driving force behind Utrecht Zouk Dance Company in the Netherlands, she uses her boundless energy teaching regular classes, privates, organising social dancing events and travelling to congresses and festivals around the world.
Marcos Alves Soares
Having danced & trained around the world in Samba de Gafiera (Funkeado), Urban Kizomba, Forró, and many different Zouk styles, his repertoire & understanding of the lead/follow interaction gives him his own unique flow and signature style. Wanting to share his experience, he now teaches workshops (inter)nationally, and this year made his debut teaching regular classes at Utrecht Zouk Dance Company with Lisa.
